The Old Folks Home

Hagar3 I was thinking the same thing about the Great Dane, isn't their average life span about 7 years? Must be doing something right!

Ron I really enjoyed watching your Pinta Pintas grow up and go from white with a few black flecks to balck with white spots LOL

Thank you!

They are amazing. I plan on letting the have visits with the Rooster soon too.

We are lucky with Daisy, good genetics, I guess. We don't do anything special with her. Feed her and love her. They have to be fed and watered in elevated dishes to help prevent bloat. Sometime she has trouble getting up, she's definately getting slower. Last week she was eating and just fell down. She lay there for a few minutes before getting back up and finishing her dinner. And then there are the time when she comes back in from her yard(we have a BIG doggy door)covered in snow or drizzle and frisking around like a puppy.

Merry (belated) Christmas !!!..to those who celebrate it! We don't here...but I got my fist blue eggs....Dec 23rd and 25th!! ((happy dance)) I am tickled! Next month......hopefully an olive!!
I have 2 EE/crosses...this is all new to me.

My Blue egg layers are in a breeding pen at the Egg Farmers place. Sadly they are not laying eggs....
Yes. Great Dane - and almost 10 years old. She's my biggest baby.

You have to love them while you can!

Sounds like a great Dog.

You should ask for generator also, they can come in handy once in a while

Scott (who remembers the Christmas of '87 and the 14' inch new snow I had to drive thu getting out of Maine from Caribou, of all places)

We will probably be getting a generator this summer. Tried to borrow one but couldn't get it to start and tried to run an extension cord from BF's new truck to run the pellet stove... and just gave up and settled for wood stoves.

I almost moved to Caribou when I came to Maine! I love that it is in the middle of nowhere and land is cheap. I still hope to retire to about 300 acres up north.

All large breeds of dogs have short lives. It is usually 7 or 8 years for a Great Dane. They are great watch dogs. They are the sweetest dogs I know of. They are territorial and protective. Not many people will go through a door with that big deep bark on the other side.
