We have chickage!

Sparkle is a surrogate mother again! One of the two eggs has hatched. She was clucking and poking her head under her body, then a little head poked out from her feathers. It cheeped a bit, then snuggled back into Sparkle's feathers.

She hatched this chick early; I was anticipating watching her and the Tournament of Roses Parade tomorrow morning as the eggs hatched.

YAY!!!!!!! That is awesome!

I used to live in Florida years ago.  All I know is that when we went through GA. on our way to VA..it was a beautiful state.  He has sent some beautiful photos home.  He says, mom, it's like going up our canyons at home in Utah, only you don't have to drive .. UP..to see the trees.  There are woods everywhere.  He also loves the birds there.  I had told him about the Red Cardinals.  He was so excited when he first saw one.  And, the lightening bugs. 

We have cardinals in the yard and at our feeders the year round. We have a TV antenna that I leave up for the birds. Depending on the season we have a Cardinal, a Mockingbird or some other bird sitting on top of it singing the year round. The Cardinals are really beautiful inthe dogwoods when they are blooming. We had some people move here from Texas and he said that he had never seen a place as green as Georgia in the spring. We can sit in the yard in the summer evenings and hear Owls and Chuck-Wills Widows. They are a southern version of the Whip-poor-will.

Me too I don't plan to be awake at midnight. Our granddaughter Allison is spending the might so who knows.

Its 10 hours into 2014 here and I can report that it looks like a great year.

Be safe. I have 90 mins til I get on the plane for a 14 hr ride back to the salt mine.

IT'S ALREADY -20 F @ 8:15 pm SO WE HAVE HAD OUR LOBSTER DINNER AT HOME AND WE ARE NOW SNUGGLED IN AND WATCHING THE CRAZY END OF YEAR SHOWS AND LAUGHING AT THE INSANE YEAR THAT WAS.

Now I'm curling up with my cappuccino and pouting because my hubby is slurping on a nice glass of wine . (My really mean oncologist won't let me have even a glass of wine, sticking lower lip out now) it's ok, I told him they will be prying my coffee mug out of my cold dead hands!!!!

Is drinking yuengling and watching the bowl games. I can't freaking BELIEVE Johnny football just won. His arrogance just makes me wanna smack him. 'Course that may be the beer talkin.' DD and DH took Maddy to Bristol to see the Speedway in Lights with her bff, Bella, who is sleeping over. All the new Cristmas presents that child got and they played all afternoon with two big boxes we taped together to make a fort. One of the boxes held a late Christmas present from my DH. A new cute little electric chipper/shredder so I can make mulch for my garden. I also got a new heavy-duty water hose, a new rake and a sweet solar gnome. I am soooooooo ready for spring. Hope all y'all fine folks are having a good new years eve. Happy New Year Oz!
