The Old Folks Home

Wow, TSF9, that really shook up my mental picture of you!  :lau

I like to think of the way we see each other in our minds, having only the info from online communications to use as a guide.  We talked about this one time before, it may have been on the CdM thread.  Sometimes we see pics of someone so we know what they look like, and sometimes it is all up to imagination.  It is like reading a book and imagining the characters.  I am often distracted while watching a movie if I read the book and had a drastically different mental picture of the character(s.)  (I KNOW that will happen when the FSG movie comes out, I already know what Christian looks like!  None of the actors can compare!)

My taste in music is extremely eclectic. My ipod has everything from Norah Jones to bands like Saliva and Seether. Tommy Shaw (Styx) is my 3rd cousin and growing up I attended many many concerts. I once got grounded for an entire summer because I snuck out to see KISS. I'm also a huge horror and sci-fi fan. I was goth before it became the sad little thing it is today. But I love the color pink, lol. I'm a strange duck. Last summer I took my niece to a Disturbed concert. I was unable to turn my head for over a week after that. I'm a black belt in tae kwon do and collect medieval weapons. For Christmas last year DH got me a replica of Bilbo's sword, Sting. Getting a better mental picture of me? :lau

OK, OK, twist my non-working arm, why don't ya.

It still needs to be trimmed (the dark blue layer is the last official layer), squared and bound. I have purchased the binding and will get to trimming as soon as my fingers work a little better.

Oh wow, this is just beautiful. When I was doing quilts, I did it the easy way, tying only for me. But, the pretty material made them look nice. I love your colors and pattern here!

I have Hermione's wand, my favorite band is the goth metal band Type O Negative.

While I stopped the quilt I was working on to do the log cabin one I just posted, the fabrics for that are bats, witches, gravestones, trees, and skeletons. The best part of sewing is being able to pick out exactly what you want, and what fits your style.

Thank you. I haven't attempted tying yet. This is only my second finished quilt, and the third overall that I've started on.

Thank you. Of course I would post the section that was the most even.

There were a couple of "oh, poop" moments, especially in the beginning.

RIP Peter Steele. My fave TON song is their remake of Neil Young's "Cinnamon Girl." I guess my all time favorite song would have to be Megadeth's "Tornado of Souls," for some reason it just feels like it vibrates at the same frequency as me...does that make any sense?

I have a lot of TON favorite songs, but my all time favorite has to be "In Praise of Bacchus." Just love the melody through it. I do have to say though, that "We Hate Everyone" finds itself on my radio often on my way home from work.

My goat farms name is October's Rust
