Nice picture but where are the life jackets?

We went on quite a rant about sunscreen, but do you know how many people drown each year?

Did you see on the news this week that a couple went fishing out of Key Largo and shortly after leaving they both fell off the back of the boat and the boat kept going, perhaps still going today.
They were adrift for 13 hours riding the Gulf Stream up the Atlantic coast of Florida but quite far from shore. Near Fort Lauderdale they were spotted by some fishermen that happened to be friends of theirs and firemen/EMTs as well. Not a shark bite on them but lots of jellyfish stings.

Beautiful to look out at that water..oh man I miss it. It's been yrs., but when I see the ocean like that, I miss it! Beautiful.

Look closely ron..no life jackets here either! What? Guess they are good swimmers. Out on these boats, they are out for the sun and fun. Maybe they wear them while they are driving fast? Just not while lounging around.

Here in Woodland, we are close to the Sacramento River Delta. A Father in his mid 30s fell out of a boat and drowned a couple of weeks ago. He was a good swimmer too but the water is deep and cold there. Currents can get you too.

I guess I was mistaken about them being found by friends. That was the impression I got from the news report I saw.

Back on dry land safely. No life jackets worn, but plenty of sunscreen on me and the boys.

Our captain (last pic) cleaned our Spanish Mackerel and Flounder and we are sitting in the dockside restaurant where they are preparing them for us to have for lunch. Yummy!
