The Old Folks Home

Thank you so much. When I was walking up to the stage my mother in law ran up and told me that she found my mothers Breast Cancer bracelet that I bought her a couple years ago. It just randomly appeared as I was walking up and I got to bring a little piece of my mother up on stage with me. I know that was a sign from her and she was sitting in the audience watching me. I miss her everyday but that was an awesome sign.
What a blessing! Of course she was watching over you.

It has been nearly 15 yrs. since I lost my parents 9 days apart and I still miss them every day. But I was blessed to have been able to take care of them till then.

I made a promise to her the last time I seen her, and I held that promise and graduated nursing school. It was truly a blessing to have helped her till the end

Did I say something about it being "monsoon season" around here?!

Oops! Now I'm all muddy.Better not do that again.

We have gotten at least 2 inches of rain on three days during the last week, and have gotten measurable quantities on a couple more. Some folks around here have gotten a lot more - "location, location, location" doesn't only count in real estate. It started raining at about 10 o'clock yesterday morning, and rained all day. Fortunately, the real storm cells stayed to our south, so we only got about 3" total. The weather service says we are setting up with the same pattern today; we've already had one shower pass through this morning.

On a different note, I found a fragment of shed snake skin in the workshop yesterday. It had stripes - Green Rat Snake, by the look of it. Anybody know how long it would take a snake to slither 10 miles?

A lot faster then it can dig up from 6 ft down!

you are not doing the snake any favors by relocating it. If you plan on relocating it 5 or 10 miles away, you would be better off just lopping its head off now and feeding it to the chickens, that way it won't go to waste. Who wants to eat a starved or dehydrated snake?

Quote: IDK, if I didn't know better, I might be thinking I had a zombie snake, or somethin'.

BB2K insists that we have been dealing with 2 snakes - she says the belly pattern on one was much darker than the other. The one that took the 10 mile trip had the lighter belly, according to her. If I catch this rascal, we'll see if she's right.

Next time, if you don't take subhanalah's advice, mark it with a dab of nail polish. That way you'll know for sure. Just don't put the marking on the top, because it will become easier pray for something that way.
