The Old Folks Home

I thought I had three broodies starting but they got up after 24 hours. I will keep an eye on them. I would like to have some chicks out of brooders.

I spent the morning mixing feed and scooping pig poop. I have chicks to take out of the bator and then it's back to the pigs. A lone farmers work is never done.

I'm thinking we should get Wisher a bag for celebrating 25000 posts.

Good Morning, Vehve! My boots are dandy and will be so pleased when I tell them you inquired...

I have been up since 3:30am. Yesterday was a long rough day. I had an event to do (I do PR for my department) from 8a to 1p and then had my regular shift from 1p - 9p. I was outside all day and on my feet, in my boots most of that time. I am getting too old for this.......

I am awake because whenever I get too hot, I get a headache, likely because I get dehydrated. I also get a headache when I am outside and there are certain pollens floating about. Evidently, that pollen was out yesterday. I will work today, but I will not be happy.

What kind of boots do you have? What brand? And for the dehydration, would it be possible for you to use one of those Camelbak hydration packs? I find them to be great when you're up and about the whole day, I can fit 3 liters of water in mine and I keep sipping it every 15 minutes. Keeps the headaches away.

Those look a lot like Haix boots. That's what I used to use when I worked as a security guard, they were super comfortable and had a great lacing system. Now I got a pair of Alpinas to use in the forest, they are great to walk in, but I don't like the lacing at all, the Haix boots had a lot better hooking system.
