Got a bushel of apples today.

Getting started with a batch of the all day apple butter. It's starting to smell divine in here.

I love the smell of fruit cooking it is such a wonderful smell!

I love to make apple pies or turnovers and freeze them for later.

Congrats Linda how exciting! Post pics when you get them please. I can remember how fondly Bob spoke of white rocks. What a deal you are getting.

I cannot tell you how blown away I am by these fabulous birds.

I don't have a camera or phone so can't send pics yet. Looking at them beside the hatchery white rocks I bought. Fluffy, blinding white, and about 30% bigger than the same age ones. bigjohn 752000 told me that Bob's has a silver gene and will be tinged grey at birth instead of yellow like jwips. They are whiter also.
I have Swedish Flower Hen eggs coming tomorrow. Tom in Pa sent to replace the Basques and Coronations that didn't hatch. He bought from Greenfire so maybe I'll get a good shape. Hope they make it here without scrambling.
I looked too silly today with my big fish net trying to catch a hen that I was loading to trade. The net is big enough to land a 70# Marlin. My daughter is scared of chickens even though she grooms huge dogs. But she did get the hen trapped so I could get it. Between being late and hot and the humidity of 80% I feel like I have run a marathon.
Left the birds in the car to go to the pharmacy to get my Shingles shot. My plan pays everything but $6.14. You bet I'll get it. I guess my day is complete. I came home and had a nice bourbon and coke. Arby's onion rings for supper. Too hot for more.

Man..wish you were close by, I will have to take a photo of our apple trees! You could come and get all you want. They are loaded this year just like the cherry trees were.

A slow cooker is another name for a crock pot so yes, it will work fine in one.
