A WARM SPOT

Just come south to California! We were a bit over 100 today. Tomorrow is 59 for a low and 101 for a high. We are in the time of the year with huge temperature swings. It is not good for health to have that happen.

Ooooh, I think 100 sounds lovely. Now the swings though...... I do always wonder why big temp swings like that don't cause everyone to just die.

Seriously....how can the human body adjust to that? :/

Seriously..... I have been waiting all my life for the cleaning fairy, the lost sock fairy, and the dish fairy, and she STILL hasn't shown up. Now I am old, and have given up on her, and am hoping for the COOP fairy.

Anyone seen her?

My neighbor was wondering if instead of a fairy, or Superman, he could have "cuddle man", so he could......uh.........skip the cuddle part.

Let me think..... Hot during the day and cool enough to sleep at night.... Its do able..... LOL... Its around 79 right now at almost 11:00 but During the day here it was in the high nineties. Even though its close to Eighty we are getting wafts of fall air blowing through.... little cold spots with lots of Wintery smells.

WE havent even headed in to Indian summer. which hits here between October and November.... Which typically is our fire season.... Sigh. Oh and Yep our trees are dropping leaves... WE dont get color they just turn brown and fall off.

Come on over. It will never be colder than 68 and never hotter than 90. Water is 76 - 80.

Right now it's 3pm with a 20 knot breeze off the bay and 80 degrees.

Sounds like sailing weather Oz. I only get that kind of temps in my compost at the moment. 14 deg C (57 F) here and foggy.

My new guy just emptied compost bin 1. It was so warm it melted his scoop made of a plastic vinegar gallon jug.

Today we will stop filling compost bin 2 and restart one. It gets around 7 gallons of pig poop and equal amount of sawdust we get from a local resaw shop every day along with weekly rice husks and chick poop and monthly chicken coop litter.

We are just back from picking up the new Boer/Nubian buck. A nine hour round trip jaunt with a stop for coffee on the way and a stop for lunch coming home. We took duck man with us and he filled us in on the machinations of kabankalan society.

The goat is just eight months but nice and solid. He will grow into a decent papa goat. We should have new kids in six months or so.

I've got a nice heat going on in the middle of the pile too, probably around 50 C right now, although since I broke my thermometer I haven't been measuring the middle of the pile. Not enough to melt plastic though. I think I need to update my compost thread again.

OZ I can just picture steaming pig poo in your compost pile - I'm off to bed now (have to be up in 4 hrs.) hope I can dream about something more pleasant. Goodnight Oz & Vehve
