No, I'm trusting the air inside the tube to heat up so the probe is inside the tube. With better parts I would have put a metal cap on the tube to transfer heat better, but I didn't have anything (although a shotgun shell would have possibly worked. I might switch to that at some point, just take the end cap off of one.) Here's a rough sketch:

Boxing on ice. Not that the Finnish league is all that interesting to watch either, all the best players go to the NHL or KHL for the money.
