Hey there, Chickencanoe!
Annabellebond sounds so, well, driven. Possessed even. But more power to her! My cousin is like that with his running...he does the 100 milers and the 14,000-foot runs over several mountain ranges. Been that way all his life. As he said, "It's the only sport I was good at." I'd be snoozing on Saturday morning and he'd be doing 13 miles around Lake Merritt.
The nestbox and roost are on opposite ends of the coop. The area under the roost shelf will have a window in it so it doesn't look too dark and cozy and it also has the chicken door to the outside lodged under there. There are 8 windows in the coop and 6 of them open for ventilation (plus two dedicated vents). Yes, the intention is it is built to last. The chickens will be an integral part of the vegetable garden and food supply here in one form or another.

(Wisher may wish to turn away at this moment....)
I had a friend who on occasion cultivated herbal smokables. He would tie red orbs to his crop to make it look like tomato plants! I guess it goes in all directions.....
Talk about clueless... Okra v. marijuana? All you have to do is look at the flower.
Sounds like some law enforcement need to go remedial with Drug Recognition 101A. What's next, raiding the bakery because the baking soda looks like cocaine? Or the candy shoppe because the rock crystal sugar candy on a stick looks like crack? I hope the okra grower was compensated if they uprooted his garden.
Sheesh.....
I processed one that a falcon killed.Any one butchered a duck?
