The Old Folks Home

@hennible
 have you seen my chart? So far, 300 eggs, for a total weight of 11679 grams, with a mean weight of 38.93 grams, or 43.92 grams for the previous 7 days.

I did. You should work on my business plan for me :D

cant believe hes on dancing with the stars. He beat cancer using rick simpson oil.

Really? Dancing with the stars may have a new viewer... I'll look up the Rick Simpson oil, that's great.

@vehve it never ceases to stun me to see a dead bolt lock on a door that has a full-on window in it.... no manner of lock or hinge or bars will keep someone out if they want in.

That being said... I have four sliding glass doors to gain access to my house. One into my bedroom One into the main house from the green house room and two in the living room. I am relying on those locks that come with the slider.... LOL... Yet from the outside in, I have a deadbolt on the back door that leads into the bathroom and a dead bolt that leads into the Laundry room.

There is only ONE room in my house that doesn't have an external door....

and that one is the only true bedroom in the main house. So... when I am living at home.... I dont lock when I go out for the day.... Why? because its cheaper to let em have the tv or the DVD player than to hire someone to come install a new sliding glass door. Thats only the labor... the door itself runs around 1200 dollars installation is around 1200 dollars....

the locks I use are only to reinforce honest people.....

One point about locked doors though, a smashed window is visible from a long distance, so in populated areas, picking a lock lessens the risk of getting caught at the scene. Also, breaking a window is noisy. But yeah, the windows are where someone would come in here.

I think the point would be that the breaking of glass would wake the occupants up... But usually break-ins occur when the occupants are away...

It wouldn't matter at my house.

The back of the house My bedroom in the foreground and the raised portion after is the Green house room when it was still a green house. White glass walls and plexiglass roof that was falling in.

and this picture is from the road looking toward my house.... upper left behind the dark green and about a thousand feet away.

This is a case where having a barking dog would be a good thing.

Alaskan - don't let them pick on you!

They don't understand us northern "rural" folk. Function is far more of a priority to us than form. Primarily because no body can see it under the snow most of the year anyway!!!
