The Old Folks Home

I dont know if it was this list or the Cold folks we were talking about movies and not spilling the beans on....
As a Science fiction writer and avid reader I crave good scifi....

So tonight I went to see "Interstellar" at the drive in movie all by my self....
OH My goodness what a Stellar movie... No pun intended.

Cant talk any more about it except its the Best hard science fiction movie in decades... Moments of suspended belief were few.... I am good with those...... the right kind.

Started at 7:45 and ended at 10:45 A good solid three hours.

We're down to about 8 hours of natural light right now, but the chickens are getting added light so that they're on 14 hour days. They're making eggs nicely still. All of them have had a bit of a break some time in the fall, so I'm comfortable keeping them on longer days.

My girls were laying very well on 12 hrs of light but I just cut back the light in the coop to 11 hrs. I can already see a slowdown but that's fine. My personal preference is to give the ladies a break when it starts getting close to the winter solstice, especially if they are still working on feather re-growth. I'm already way ahead on eggs for holiday baking so it's no problem. I then slowly start to sneak the light in the coop back up to 12 hrs after the new year. Got 3 Aussie girls that just started laying in the fall and they are really cranking out those little pullet eggs tho they are rapidly getting bigger. I just hope nobody goes broody on me this year

Perchie---I have always been a staunch scifi fan and a huge critic as well. I will definitely have to check this one out. Been waiting for another good one to come along. Laughed my way thru most of Gravity.

These were so much fun to make. SCG and I agree if we lived closer we would be single because we would constantly be doing things together and ignoring our significant others! ;)
