The Old Folks Home

All I can say is - nice place - wouldn't want to live there. BTW I did have a house close to Lake Erie in PA for several years. My aversion to snow is not just theoretical.

And now an areial view of the island to the left as we sit on our lanai

Its about 100 miles away by sea but very similar scenery can be had in Sipalay and Campamones bay - about 35 miles drive away

Here is a link to the google images

The USS Panay was sunk by the Japanese there in 1943. There are still all sorts of stuff in the wreck including gas masks - its well respected by the locals and is a marine sanctyary. its 120ft down so out of the reach of novices but we have plenty of deep dive experience.

Loads of great shallow water dives as well.

Our place is ugly compared to the area outside our gulf.

I can't imagine anyplace on waters like that being ugly. My dream home is on some remote but not too remote island in the mid pacific. Lol.
Dont get me wrong - its not ugly - its relatively ugly compared to the areas with pure white sand, torquoise waters and coral.

We are in a shallow gulf (red arrow). We have volcanic sand, which is dark.

The areas facing the open sea (purple arrow) around the corner have deep water not far from shore and coral (thus white sand)
