The Old Folks Home

By the way, back in the day before digital cameras were popular and when webcams and scanners were expensive, I wanted to digitize a picture. I had a TV receiver card in my computer, so I hooked up a camcorder to the puter, pointed the camcorder on whatever I wanted to digitize, and took a screenshot from the puter. The image quality was terrible, but at least I got pictures on the puter.

The top is open, and the front side is open. The other 3 sides are closed. I guess they can snuggle, and there is plenty of hay in there.
I have open air pens with some of my birds and before winter hit we put tarps on three sides and leaves cut up by the mower in the bottom of the pens. And yesterday I gave them all a huge pile of hay. Yours will be fine.

Felix do I sense jealousy? G'nite - headed for sleepy time - tease you tomorrow
I suspect that, like his namesake, Felix suffers from almost terminal curiosity.

Woke to 13 degrees F this morning. It is windy and the WCF is -2 degrees. I let the big dogs into the garage and gave them a big feed of warm, wet, dog food and scraps.

I went ahead and harvested the broccoli yesterday because the cold front was coming in overnight. I got four gallons of flowers and another two gallons of stems (I like the stems about as well as the flowers.)

I heard the roosters, crowing up a storm, at 5:30am. I guess they fared well overnight. I will take them some warmed water as soon as it gets bright.

I know our temps are not unusual for most of you, but here, it is very unusual. We have tied many records for low temps on this date and it is not supposed to get above freezing until tomorrow afternoon. Our schools have delayed starting for two hours. Here in the south, we are just not set up to deal with temps that cold. I think there is a problem with the buses starting.
