The Old Folks Home

SCG we can discuss turkey eggs when the hens start laying again. I might take you up on the offer to send me some. I still want to get some from Porters though I think. It depends on a few things.

And, beautiful has to come with personality, or it..aint..worth ...nothin. Nice personality.
Some folks out think they are .. all that. Just with the looks. I beg to differ. Yep.

my hubby calls me gorgeous, but it's certainly not because of my looks. He didn't even know me during my high maintenance phase in early high school. LOL Hair, makeup, designer clothes, all to make me gorgeous outside just to fit in, where we are all meant to stand out. Dropped all the excess and focused on my inner beauty instead and a whole 'nother world opened up to me.

My personality tends to run to the scary side too. I'll say something I think is really funny, and people react with glazed eyes and dropped chins.then move away fast. Okay sometimes my personality even scares me.

And actually, I have scanned those too... they scan just fine!
I was just preparing people for my age. In fact several of my grandparents' pictures are tintypes.

actually, the photo that I posted of my grandmother.... well, she was never pretty.... she, on her best days, was simply 'plain'
Plain can be pretty.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
I'm also less critical in my old days. Old women are looking better all the time.

Don't worry Alaskan, wrinkles jus show you have lived an interesting life. I have quite a few of them (SCG may say I look just like my picture but I have a TON more wrinkles) and would never have surgery to get rid of them. I earned every one of them!

Wrinkles only show in the right light.

Yep I've been told by people that they thought I was pretty until they heard me laugh, or I just acted like myself in general... Thankfully DH is attracted to so called abrasive personalities...

Har har har har. I can hear it now.

My daughter became high maintenance during the last couple years of grade school. It would take her hours to get ready in the morning. There were only 11 kids in her class, 5 boys and 6 girls.
Enter high school. Nerinx Hall is an all girls private catholic school. After about 2 months with no one to impress, she slept till 10 minutes before time to leave, threw her uniform on, ate a quick breakfast and out the door. No need for makeup or hair coifing. Beautiful thing.

cc - My girl isn't ever out to impress anyone. She is as low maintenance as they come and is adored by every single person she meets. She has this *thing* I can't explain it, it's like she knows exactly who someone is and acts accordingly, but never isn't herself. She somehow fits in every crowd.
But then again, she has known who she is almost from birth. LOL

Definitely NOT like her mother, the introvert.
