Oz the kids are looking great! They just look so happy! With the teeter-totter if it is wood, just make sure you sand it very smooth and seal it very well. Let's just say I got splinters one time in my seat. Not fun.
I took my dogs to the groomer yesterday for the first time. I usually bush and bathe them but it had been a while and doing that hurts my back after a while and Blondie (my cocker mix) hates to be brushed because I think she was abused as a puppy. She doesn't bite but she does act like you are completely torturing her the minute she sees a brush in your hands. OMG, the groomer did such a great job. All three are fluffy and Laddie (my sheltie) looks ten pounds lighter without the fur he was shedding out. Now I feel bad that I didn't do it sooner. I knew I was going to like the groomer though even before I met her. She has pea fowl, guinea hens, geese and turkeys wandering about.

Had to take my terminally ill cat to the vet again yesterday. She's had loose stools and Friday I noticed her bottom was incredibly red and swollen. We had been trying to keep it clean with wipes, hot compresses and one extremely bad night of trying to shave it with an electric razor (which I'm pretty sure BF will now be completely bearded for the rest of his life because he will not reuse it, not to mention how lucky we are to have gotten out of that with all our extremities mostly intact). Anyway Friday night I call the emergency vet on call at the office and get a Dr I hadn't dealt with, yet. He starts asking me about the consistency of her poo and in trying to describe it I bring up cow patties. We then digress into a lovely conversation about how cow patties differ significantly if the female is pregnant/lactating versus not. When I got an appointment yesterday he ended up being my vet and he was absolutely wonderful with my cat, and hilarious with me (asking me what the "over/under" would be of getting butt cream on my cat at home). My kind of people. I'm really lucky to have found this vet office up here - they do traditional dogs/cats but always have one vet on the road each day doing farm calls...and think nothing of discussing off-topic feces consistencies over the phone with a stranger.
