The Old Folks Home

Deb I did work from pictures to get the templates down and the colors are inspired from the actual birds or flowers. From there I "fussy cut" the fabrics to get the spirit of the colors in the design. Here are the hummingbird pictures I used.

Bunny, it is funny you should suggest making them into wall hangings. My aunt (who is an experienced quilter) suggested the same thing. I had already bound the blocks together with sashing and started quilting the blocks by the time she suggested it. I decided to keep this as a runner. Pretty sure the person I am sending it to will take good care of it and even if it gets worn out from being used, that is the whole point of making such things. :D

I am amazed at kids that DON'T change majors. I went as an undergrad undecided until forced to choose a major. I chose Spanish. then when I went back, I got my Masters in Social Work. Today, I still wonder what I will be when I grow up (and the kids leave the house!)

Still trying to decide what I want to be when I grow up. Took a major job change about 6 weeks ago and while challenging and frustrating, I'm glad I did it. I have 10 more months and then hopefully I'll be returned from whence I came as previously promised. We'll see.

It does.... It has a cone head and another cone is on the ground as if the baby groot hatched out of an egg.... Anyway that how I put the avatar together...

I don't know what a groot is but you did such a good job I knew it was a conehead something.

It was wicked cold here this morning. My mom is coming to visit on Friday and staying for the long weekend. She was horrified at the -20F picture I sent her this morning. I'm also flying her up on the 8 passenger Cessna to the regional airport. Tomorrow I start sending news articles on small plane crashes.

Alaskan I hate to admit but I do not know what you are talking about? Famous where? I would like to see it.
Thank you to everyone for the wonderful comments. It really encourages me to keep doing more.
SCG torturing your mother? Really? :gig :weee

I agree I was just looking to see where your famous on here and can't find it. Please share.

Can anyone tell me why both of my Easter Eggers have quit laying? One stopped last year and she is not even 2 and the other one is not even a year old yet. I am confused as the other hens I have from my first hens are still laying.

They should start laying again in a month.

Some breeds are more sensitive to hours of daylight.
