I found the feed I was looking for, and didn't have to drive too far to get it. There is an Ace Hardware nearby that is also a feed store. The price was good too.

Alaskan's back I just got his new blog entry. He and his wife went to Anchorage to whoop it up for a weekend. He got back to find animals fine and same number of kids as he had before.

So nice to come home and find that the house hasn't been burnt down in my absence.

Okay, I'd like to bring up some feed discussion again.

I keep wondering if your super high protein levels aren't detrimental to them.

I think 16% in the winter is just fine, but definitely not higher than 20%.

When it gets super cold, I don't increase their protein, I increase their fat intake.

Al, I've been adding more and more of the grain mix to the high protein stuff, seems to be good. And luckily they do still have the option to eat it freely too, I've had some unmixed stuff in feeders too. And now we're out of the high protein stuff, so they're going on a lower protein mix.
