The Old Folks Home

BF just got to work... 3 hours later.

He says the roads are terrible, can't tell they're plowed on account of the drifting/blowing plus visibility is low.

yikes, at least you know he's safe. how long is his shift?

When I worked on the west side of state afternoon shift, the storm track was so weird, sometimes I would just park myself at a coworkers place close to the shop and not go home. That sucked.

maybe it will die down a bit for him

SCG is there someplace close to work (or even at work) he could stay if needed? I know my mom stayed a few times when she was working as a nurse at Central Maine Med in Portland when the roads were just too crappy to get home.

Yeah they're offering shelter in place with kitchen meals. He's not interested.

SCG-- no place close to work for him???

Years ago DH had lots of overnights plowing during storms in the BOston area. Now as a supervisor and many years of experience his office is well equipped for sleeping over. THank goodness his work has always had showers and a good kitchen. His current office building is an old house that was re-done and updated and includes a full kitchen WOnt be seeing him for another couple of days.

Snows is about 20 inches so far. Warming up and preparing for any power loss, high winds are yet to come here. About the same amt of snow as 2 years ago. We're good. Put a frozen turkey in the oven-- praying for no outage at least until it is fully cooked. Cranked up the temp a bit to shorten the cooking time jus tin case. . . .lol

Kids are happy to have two days of no school. Hmmm guess they are not shoveling enough. Actually, my oldest has been a big help. Clearing snow off roofs and haying the animals and shoveling areas the snowblower cant go.

Back to snowblowing . . .

I saw a new face here a while back but dont have time to say HI....
