The Old Folks Home

Hello everyone. Just stopping in real quick before bed time.

SCG..Sorry about your chick. Fingers crossed for the best...if not for an easy end. Big hugs!
I'm so jealous of all the snow talk...I know seems crazy. We have nothing, absolutely nothing. Very weird as we should have had at least two feet in the higher elevations.
Off to bed..sweet dreams or good morning depending on where you are and when you get on here.

So true we have only gotten about three feet of snow so far this year where I am at. Not all at once though, very thankful for that. The most I have had at any one time where I live now is almost 4 feet on the ground. It definatly made it a bugger to get around. Had to hire a dozer to clear my driveway which is several hundreds of yards long.!
we get on average about 6-7feet of rain a year at cocobeach - this is our dry season - just 3-4 inches a month Jan-April

we get 15 inches in July and a little less in August.

Alicia you can have the 19" of snow we got this past weekend, hope to have the driveway shoveled by end of the week. They are saying few days with 1-2inches except every time they say that they upgrade. I really do love shoveling and don't mind the cold just hate the gusty winds and blowing snow. No wind and I can shovel happily all day

No judgements, please. We were unable to kill the chick. It is so, so sweet. I put it down on its heating pad next to my computer, and it looked at me and hopped and jumped into my hands. Sigh.

However...

Yes, that is two feet on the ground... barely. Leg is still twisted, and it's swelling up from the tight bandage wrap, but this is the last ditch effort. If no improvement by Thursday, we are culling, for sure. I may need some pharmaceutical help, but that's the decision.

If anyone can save that chick it will be you!

Hoping for the best!

SCG, instead of just vet wrap, you might try reinforcing it with a wooden match stick, a cut down popsicle stick, or a pipe cleaner. Don't over tighten the vet wrap. Give it a week.

I googled the Vittel thing - it comes attached to their water bottle. I thought it wasn't very rugged. Apparently each bottle of water comes with it and when you finish - you toss them I guess. Apparently Vittel is a big brand name and makes many products, I didn't see it on Amazon but, they had other Vittel stuff.
