The Old Folks Home

Yes, I have helped it, but my phone is not saving pictures, not uploading pictures.

I got most of its shell off, it's one leg was shaking/trembling. I have it on a damp cloth in the incubator. It peeps, but I think it's leg is kinda messed up. :(

leg deformities are common in chicks that incubate for more than 21 days

sorry DK

Kathy have you ever seen this plant? It is suppose to help mosquito bits.... I wonder if it will help my birds? I may try rubbing some on one to see. http://offgridquest.com/green/plantain-weed
My gramma used that plant! I remember one time I stepped on a rusty nail and she put its leaves on my foot. Don't know if it helped but I didn't get any infection, and no lockjaw Lol.

Quote: It has a lot of uses. I am going to try it and hope for the best. I use tea for burns when needed. I had a pressure cooker blow up in my face when I was 16 and my neighbor came running and put my face under the cold water faucet the put tea all over my face, 30 min. later you could not tell I had anything ever happen to me. It works!

DK I am so sorry about your chick. I had a couple problems last year trying to learn to hatch. And now if it hatches it does if not I feel it is not meant to be. But that is just me.

Chickadoodles, I was scared to death of pressure cookers - my mom had"difficulties" with them. I wouldn't come out of my room till it was over with. After reading about your experience, I won't even approach them in stores.

You never know if they are 'loaded' or not. Better to keep away.

Also for those that help, and don't get the legs up where they are lined up..and leave them in the shell to keep absorbing what's left..so yes, usually after 21 days, having that left leg stuck in that same position really causes problems.
