The Old Folks Home

I believe psychiatrist's now recognize "weather driven" crazy - to be a new type of mental illness - health insurance should cover it. Don't worry SCG they can fix you up - or not! we'll still love you

I know some people that had to get lamps that have sun bulbs in them to help with their depression in the winter months. They have to have their lamps on them so many hours a day. They say it has really helped them.

I think I'm beyond a bulb at this point. The snow is up over some of the windows, now. You can't un-see that with a bulb.

SCG-- how are you doing?? Looks like another storm arriving Thur-Friday, but I cant see on the local weather if it will hit you too. Possibly not as it is centered off Martha's vineyard in the forecasts. Hope you get a pass on this one.

We did not get hit near as hard as y'all did this past storm, thankfully. Looks like the storms are going to keep on coming: Friday, Sunday, Wednesday in the 10-day forecast. Driving home today I saw many things I wanted to get pictures of... signs that say SPEED LIMIT and then a giant pile of snow covering the actual numbers, signs that are unreadable due to snow sticking to their face and turning the entire sign white (new game: you'll have to guess as to what alert is a diamond coming up!), a bunch of mailboxes entombed in a snowbank with only the front slots chiseled out.

you can use OTT lights for SAD and other reasons - every now and then JoAnn's fabrics has them 50% off - which is the only time their prices are approachable.. I have 4 ft.fluorescent T-12 bulbs in a fixture - use one Wide spectrum gro lux bulb and one cool white. Gives off the right balance to bloom plants - I would imagine that would be a cheap alternative. You probably could use a 2 ft. fixture but, the smaller size tubes cost more than the long ones.
Thanks Diva. I will check out JoAnn's.

Oh my that would drive me crazy! We spent a summer on a lake in MN. and some bees had built a hive in the walls and they swarmed out of the walls into the cabin! 5 kids and 4 adults took off in every direction! lol

We aren't bothered with them coming in the house. It's those big tunnels they bore in the house.

I can't believe you have turkeys already...
I am so excited! I have 22 eggs in my bator and 2 hens are hiding eggs from me and so is my duck. I'm scared they will freeze this week when that storm comes on Thurs. Should I bring in my eggs or leave them. My hen bit me today when I found them. lol she wants to hatch them. I still have 2 hens holding out for warmer weather to start laying. But hopefully soon.
