BTW, that big coon would provide animal protein to the flocks for days.
If I set 2 leg traps maybe I'll get 2 in one night.
I'm selling from 8-11 pullets/hens tomorrow night. That means I need to process about 3 more cockerels. Maybe there's another processing class in my future.

There was some sort of car company set up here, Sunny Car Center. The person who started the massive undertaking (I think the lot it was to be built on was about 10 hectares) had managed to even secure a loan for 30 million or something, backed up by a promise that the widow of some former African dictator was going to be a major investor. He had been dealing with her "accountant". He just had to send 300000 to some account to get the money. I think the guy still thinks he's going to get his money. This, even when the initial transfer was flagged at the bank and not put through, and the police told him that it's a scam. But still, he went ahead and paid, some people are just idiots.

Even if he had tripped it, notice how he keeps his butt hanging out so even if it closed, he could just back out before it locked.

I will make a suggestion, take it or leave it:
1. Wire tie your bait to the bottom of the trap very tightly (may need to use more than one)
2. Set the pan to the lowest setting so it's very sensitive. The struggling to remove the bait will likely trip it. He may still get out with the butt thing going on, but it's worth a shot.

Be careful on the leg traps.

I am amazed how much honey I've gone through since August. I only have 4 pints left. Hopefully both hives survive this year and I get a double harvest.

It is about 500$ to start to get a hive, the package of bees and the minimum supplies like a smoker and a veil. Much cheaper than chickens
