The Old Folks Home

I incubated white Leghorn eggs....

and I have:

single comb white Leghorns

rose comb white Leghorns

rose comb dark brown leghorns

so....... which hens laid the 2 eggs I incubated?

The chicks are both yellow...

So, I would guess that I grabbed two eggs from my Single Comb White Leghorn hens,

and the father is the Dark Brown Leghorn, and
1. the Leghorn rooster is HETERO for Rose comb, and
2. My White Leghorns are Dominant white not Recessive white

We agree with that?

My Dark Brown Leghorns I hatched from shipped eggs last spring, all were dark brown (no whites or other odd colors) but of the 3 roosters, one had a single comb... so that is in there somewhere)

Wish I could. I have a very strict breeding program here where anything can breed with anything it wants to create babies (the only exclusions is no human babies must be made). Therefore, I cannot tell you with any degree of knowledge what produces what (with exception of turken genetics, which I am quite good at).

A turken geneticist! Maybe you can answer this. I'm getting a trio of cemani turken crosses. She said her roo was 'bowtied' so she is only getting a percentage with the naked neck, she's keeping all of those and saved me some nice dark ones with no NN. What is the chances of getting NN chicks from those? I don't really want any with the NN, but it wouldn't hurt my feelings if I did, they'd look pretty cool with the black skin.

Fiskars = great AMERICAN MADE product!!! I actually live a little more than an hour or so drive from their factory. Every summer they have a huge factory sale where I scoop up all our sewing, household and garden/farm cutting cutting implements. The savings are more than worth the ride. Their ratcheting loppers can take all the abuse I can give them keeping our acres of "lawn" trimmed up and I pick up scissors for as little as 25 cents a pair

BTW - have you read the book titled "If you Lived Here I'd Know Your Name" ? It really is a lot like your writing style.
