The Old Folks Home

Woke up to a cold stove and white stuff all over the ground. Kicked DH out of bed and told him to make it warm. Watered the chicks and let the dogs out. Now my coffee and I are gonna stay under this blanket till it's warm in here.

Morning everyone
We were actually above zero this morning so we got an inch or two of "partly cloudy". Back below zero for the rest of the week, whoopeee. Sorry for all you southern folks and your critters. I would rather have a foot of snow than and inch of ice. We are still locked in record cold up here but it's not that bad because even tho -20 sounds horrible, and I guess it is, don't know of too many people that aren't prepped for it. Those that aren't are the snowbirds sitting in Florida right now. There is no way you guys in the south can condition your critters for it and SCG, I just have no comment for what you are dealing with.

February is always the snowy time here. I hate the cold. Dobby is waking up, I can see him moving under his blanket...but I'm going to let him be until it warms up in here.

Do you have any honey based wound ointment or Vetericyn? Both are our go to products when it comes to wound care.

We had a rooster with a cut in his comb inside today, he only got it washed though. We couldn't even find the wound site, but my gosh there was a lot of blood, the whole bird was soaked.

We have nothing available except neosporin, peroxide and otc NSAIDs. I'm trying to keep it clean but food gets in it when he tries to eat so I'll need to flush it out again. If he doesn't stop shaking his head he's going to end up wringing his own neck. He's still as long as I keep him covered up in his box.
