There are lots of people helped in hatch-a-longs. A huge percentage of people are hatching for the first time and many of them are doing so with shipped eggs. The numbers always suck

Hatch-a-longs expose the myths because there are enough numbers to show statistcal significance.

(pulls up rocking chair and sits down) Hey Bama, just chill out. Newbies usually have low hatch rates......especially with shipped eggs. I've never done bettter than 35% with viable shipped eggs......but I average not less than 80% with local eggs. Yawn, I think I'll take a nap now.

I just think its WRONG for people to give others a definitive guideline for hatching from 3 continents over.
My peeve is humidity and the lockdown crap.
Maybe we could do like usda planting zones with eggs in regards to humidity and elevatiion.
I KNOW that (our elevation and humidity) we cant follow byc (old school crap) rules regarding hatching. It wont work. I love sunshine and all....but she lives in a different area. Her methods dont work here.
I dont know exactly what does work here yet. But her method does not with 4 people with 6 incubators of different brands and models.
Yes there are variables. But her method wont hatch more than 20% here.

Sally has many solid points. her research and reference articles are second to none. She is not spouting myths out of her cloaca

it does not matter where you live, unless the eggs lose 11-13% of weight , you are going ti have a crappy hatch.how you get there is up to you. If you get a 20% hatch on homw grown eggs and following principles of egg weight loss, I will eat one of your possums
