If you press on the swellings do they dimple? pitting adema? is what i am thinking of.... Do chickens get heart conditions.

When your feet swell like that its going to hurt.

Nope it is not edema, it is hard.

@superchemicalgirl I saw this about swollen feet. the last post the poster says what the vet said and did. Maybe this will help you some.

Thank you for the link. I don't think I'm going to try to lance it or do a needle exploration. I am going to treat for scaly leg mites, although I'm not sure she has it. A few scales are rough and slightly uplifted and there's some brown dirt in the crack... may or may not be mites.

I saw a thread on this the other day. It was Niftychicken and he was announcing this update. I am running on Internet Explorer and it hasn't popped up for me yet. I guess I really need to move to Chrome but I just got IE figured out.

I could not do your job. Grandma was in one when she was recovering from hip surgery. All those people were so up beat... as much as Grandma complained everyone took really good care of her.

I really love working with all the old folks. They make me smile every day, especially the grumpy ones. My last day there will be the 18th. I am going to miss the residents but not the company I work for. Not pleased with their philosophy at all.
