Good luck with quitting smoking. The biggest help with quitting, for me, other than the patch, was the list. Take the time to make a list of at least 5 reasons you don't want to smoke. Memorize it. This sounds like nonsense, but is very important to do. Each time you get the urge to smoke, recite the list. Usually, the urge will be gone by the time you finish the list. For the first couple weeks, you may have to recite the list twice, before the urge is gone, but after that, the urge will leave before you get through it the first time. Once you have quit smoking for awhile, and you think you're over it, you will be blindsided at least once. Out of nowhere you will get the urge to smoke. Recite your list, and the urge will be gone before you get through the list.
