I just had a call from a head hunter on a job in Anchorage Alaska. Also one in Hawaii.

Alaska would be fun in summer but.. winter is unimaginable for a tropics loving lad

Someday in the far future I'd like to retire and move to Alaska. Wife says why? Well to hunt fish pan for gold and meditate/vegitate, read books and enjoy the quite solitude and life.
But I want to move south she says...Told her I might visit her once in awhile...lol.

I think it was on Alaskan's awesome blog I read Homer, where did I hear of that town before? Googled it, wiki mentioned it was the hometown of the crazy Kilcher's. Hey Alaskan do you know the Kilcher's? Yup! I think Alaskan said they square dance together?
I would so love to meet Jewel's father. (And jewel also lol) There is a cool YouTube video of them both singing and yoddling together that is super funny. The song was named after his friend 'Yo' I think?

Alaska has summer?
I would totally go Hawaii either way. Unless the $$$ was alot better in Alaska....But Im sitting on my porch swing and it is 110 F (with heat index) here. I dont even like our winters here.

hawaii sounds appealing but the islands are very small - i may end up with rock fever

X's 2 lil...sounds like you are going through a lot there. Try and keep them in a place where the racoons can't get into!

Guy at work had racoons rip off chunks of his cornish x in a chicken tractor. Apparently they are to dumb or lazy to move away from the edge of the fence. Lost a bunch of them. He thought it was predator proof...

That's why people need to use 1/2" hardware cloth instead of flimsy stuff like chicken wire. Besides a raccoon can dig up under a tractor, or if big enough turn it over and get all the goodies inside. Hey hens are dumb enough to sit on the nest and not even know they are keeping a snake warm while it takes her eggs.

Took the girls little dog ( itsa cat, dogs chase rabbits, rabbit would laugh at this thing) outside, I can see my breath, huh? isn't it the middle of July? Supposed to be 47 tonight, where is all that global warming stuff...only in California???
