we are supposed to have three days of 90 plus thunderstorms - hate heat & humidity

. Just as I wrote that it thundered. Maybe I should say it will be sunny & mild & dry.

I used to sing in a church choir. I got asked to just mouth the words.

Shortly after that I stopped attending church and have never resumed the practice.

Tonight there was a visitor in church...... She didn't leave, but managed to stay for the entire service... Clearly a Strong woman.

Our music is bad.... Our deacon has a poor voice (not horrid, but far from good), my eldest son with a very strong carrying voice sang loudly (and hits about 70% correct notes), my 2nd son, and actual GOOD singer sang quietly..... And I sang too -sigh- and I am only a bit better than son number 1.

The rest that sang sang pretty quietly.

So clearly, the church I go to welcomes and embraces those that sing poorly but with great heart.... Sour.... You need to come and visit... No matter how you sing, you would fit right in!

We are told to"make a joyful noise" - repeatedly - I don't think you can find any verse that says it has to be tuneful!

My little mule Betsy makes a variety of sounds when I'm getting her food - grunts, whimpers, and long, drawn out wavering squeaks like slowly deflating a balloon - it's hysterical. I've long though I should teach her to do it on cue, then record her while singing "Sing a Song," particularly the part that goes, "don't worry that it's not good enough, for anyone else to hear, just sing, sing a song. "

(And just for the record, I'm a better singer than Betsy)

My singing sounds sorta like the original Alfalfa... so I don't.... in public anyway. I just terrorize the chickens and Amiko the wonder mutt.
