Well, Old Folks, I did something this afternoon that I haven't done in a long time.

I was headed home from work and noticed my neighbors in their hay field, bringing in baled hay from the field. They are both retired and I would guess in their mid to upper 60's. It was just him throwing hay and her driving the truck. I honked the horn at them as I went by, but by the time I had driven the mile or so home, I knew I had to help. I found that only one of my three sons was home and I told him what "Mr. Tommy and Ms. Ruby" were doing and asked him what he thought. He said he thought he should go help them. Good boy. We went back and it only took us an hour to get all the bales in the field on the trailer. It was a small field, and only about 100 bales and Mr. Tommy had baled them light, thankfully.

I actually did better than I thought I would, but I may pay for it tomorrow.

I read an article that said taking pain medicine before feeling pain does not help. Wait until you feel the pain--of course that may be at 2 in the morning.....

Good on ya, girl!

I picked up a few bales of hay a couple of weeks ago, when that pulled muscle was making everything much too interesting. When I got home, I asked my son to help me unload them. 6 bales, and he managed to"explode" 2 of them. Maybe I should make him help with the hay bales more often, so he'll learn how to handle them?

I used to take it immediately after a riding lesson.... believe me the pain you go through learning to ride goes volumes. Actually Tylenol wasnt invented then.... I was taking Aspirin. It worked... mitigating the pain Not eliminating it... but taking the edge off so you could do mild movement enough to take the Knotts out the next day.

Aspirin is amazing!

It is an anti inflammatory not a pain killer. I would take two naproxin sodium pills and then one 10 hours later or another NSAID. I do try to stay away from them all though. I did have some last week but I do not think they are very good for us long term. There is something about causing a "leaky stomach" that makes chemicals we eat that should be eliminated go into our body instead.

My Grandmother would say to use some Christian Science...whatever that means....She was catholic.

Wisher you raised your son right, I know physically you felt bad afterwards but, inside you felt good for helping them out. Neighbors don't help me out here, they think I am an old crusty bird and can manage by myself. They don't realize managing by myself ,may not be choice but necessity. Like with your older neighbors. I am late 60's myself.

That's great. Glad to hear these kind of stories. Neighbors helping..and your son .. well, he has a great example of a mom!
