The Old Folks Home

One of Dsqard's turkeys tried to kill me today, but otherwise happy it's Friday and my 7 day work stretch is over. I hope to get some awesome sleep tonight and some R&R in this weekend.

That was due to bumblefoot turkey trying to escape her daily foot violation. She almost succeeded.

BF went back to work today after 4 (or was it 5) weeks off. Still no improvement in the eye but the facial muscles look a lot better and he can actually talk, now.

Picked up a steal on a serger today on Craigslist after work. Just got that sucker working.

I think I just like turkeys on the Thanksgiving serving plate. I didn't realize how dangerous they are. OY.

So nice about BF being able to talk now! Is he talking like his old self? Or does he still have a ways to go?

Crazy how terrible lime disease can be.... I know a couple, one of their kids got limes... They didn't really know it until he had had it so long, that I am not sure if it was treatable at that point. The poor mom felt so super guilty about it... But he had just complained about his joints aching, and she had thought they were just growing pains.

They're more dangerous for their size and stupidity. They struggle to get loose, just like a chicken does, but the chickens are much smaller and more manageable. The turkeys are not. Once I finally got her wings pushed back to her body her legs continued to pedal... she kept whacking herself in the face with them. Not smart birds.

He's still mentally not happy about it all, but I think his speech is fine. His vision is blurry in the one eye, there's some damage to it. So far the doctor says it's reversible, if we get the nerve back, soon.

It's a lovely weekend here, what are y'all up to

Wow!

I hope you are making sure the BF is getting the nutrition that makes nerves grow--B vitamins is a big one and it would not hurt to up the potassium foods.

Going a bit further, some of the mushroom supplements or actually eating them if you can find them can help stimulate nerve growth. One of them is Lions main.

This weekend we are working on my youngest Daughters Birthday stuff. Is it odd to have the youngest turning 16 and finding out that the 26 year old is going to have a baby? That will be the first Grandchild...
