I'm down to butchering a cockerel once a week. Pull him out of the solitary bachelor pad before sunup and off to the killing cone. Then I catch the next one that I've deemed I won't be using for breeding and he goes in to the bachelor pad with fresh water and a mixture of 1/3 15% finisher feed, 1/3 grain mix, 1/3 whole milk.

When I get down to fewer roosters, they'll go into seclusion for 2 to 4 weeks but for now I have to eliminate some crowing. Counting today's slaughter, I have 5 fresh chickens chilled or in the freezer. I think I still have 10 more that I have to either sell or butcher.

BTW, your Halloween treat tray now a puzzle (thanks to Microsoft Jigsaw) on my computer that I am working on. I have used some @dsqard photos also. Keep those photos coming.....winter time mean puzzle time for me!

Me, too!! It came with the upgrade to Windows 10 and I am spending too much time with it.
