On a different thread... I am listening to the news... San Bernardino. I have family all over that area... 'Berdu and Redlands. Scary.

Hi Girl!

Thank goodness your family is all safe! What a mess. I cried all evening! My 83 yo Pops was having breakfast with an elderly friend at a restaurant 1/4 mile away. They closed the place and locked the doors. Shook him up pretty badly. He said cops with assault rifles were everywhere! Took him forever to get back home here! I'm sure your family was nearly panic stricken! It was chaotic. All the local radio stations were announcing to stay inside and avoid the entire city since the shooters fled in a car. I hope they're ok today, but it sure ups the anxiety.

maybe not purchased in the state. but I think assault type weapons are illegal in CA, as well as magazines able to hold more than 50 rounds.

Howdy Bert! Assault rifles are legal here but must be modified to only hold 10 rounds. no biggie though, folks can just drive to AZ.

I actually do a "Chicken Stew" that is really like chicken pot pie without the crust and with dumplings. I know it sounds like I got several dishes confused, and I guess that basically what it is. It is large chunks of chicken, carrots, potatoes, english peas, celery, and that "gravy" with dumplings. Yummy in the winter when it's nasty out.

Sounds delish!! I love any "throw it all in there" recipes.

I have been working on this today trying to get rid of stress.

They have been married for sixty years. She recovred about the time all this was happening. The one closest to it all is on the other side of the freeway from all of it.

Thats the stuff I worry about is Disruption of the old folks. Even someone very alert and spry could become disoriented and depression over it.
