@chickadoodles We got 4 kits, but I haven't really gotten any pics of them since it's pretty cold out and we're just letting them stay warm in the nest. Took them 4-5 days to develop fur with this cold weather, and now at about a week they've over doubled in size.

We've got the roof rails all around the house, but it's a steel roof so it isn't much of a problem. If we get another monster load of snow I might look into dropping some of it off, but right now, with only about a foot on the roof it's keeping it insulated nicely. Before the snow, the attic was about 7F warmer than the outside air, now its about 15F warmer.

Ours are still very small and we are not wanting to upset the new momma. So we will wait till they are a bit larger to see how many we can see. It is 25* here and they are buried in the hay.

We were down to about 0F at the coldest when they were a day old, but that plucked hair is a pretty amazing insulator. Is your doe protective of them? Our's actively ignores the nest when she's not feeding, probably to steer predators away from the nest.

We put a wooden crate box in the brooder for her to use. But she sit's on top of it watching her babies when she is not eating. DH thought he might try to take a peek last night but she acted like she would jump on his head. So he did not chance it.

Our's only keeps her roommate out of the nest, but she isn't worried when we take a look.
