The Old Folks Home

For everyone that posted various HOA rules, and regulations, along with deed restrictions, it just goes to prove that common sense doesn't seem to be a frequent visitor of those making the rules, nor is the live-and-let-live mentality a part of the community either.

Deb, glad you are mending nicely, and that you got your medical card. Hopefully they can get your BP under control.

Congratulations to all of those with new chicks. I'm chomping at the bit, waiting for next payday, so I can get my new incubator. Hopefully, it won't be too long, and I will be able to post some fuzzy butt pics too.

V I had my baby bunnies in my large dog kennel for a few weeks till we got their frame and cages done. Well I took the straw and bunny poo and put it in the kiddie pool I was going to use for the strawberry bed. I had poked the holes in the pool and let the straw and poo sit in the back for a couple weeks and let it rain on it many times before my strawberry plants got here. I kept the straw and poo in the bottom of the pool and added potting soil on top of it then mixed it in and planted my berries in the mixture. They are sprouting and going crazy! They were bare root when they arrived a week ago.

As long as the rabbits are healthy, there is not much danger in using their waste, even if not composted. Birds fly overhead and leave droppings, and bugs leave droppings too, so using waste from healthy rabbits to enrich the soil should not be a major concern. The rain, or watering help rinse things off the food plenty of times before it gets harvested. Just be sure to rinse everything thoroughly before eating it.

HOW UTTERLY INSANE IS THIS?????

The Chicken Whisperer

I was just made aware that a company is renting 2 baby chicks for a two-week period over the Easter Holiday for families with young children. There is no way this can be a good idea for anyone involved, including the baby chicks. They claim they provide everything the chicks need for two-weeks. A local news station is actually promoting this program! I have contacted my associates with the CDC in Atlanta to make them aware of this program. I really want to see the instructions that come with this package. More info in the comments section below...
