Does anyone know if moth balls will repel Ssssssssssssssssssss? It didn't work on chipmunks.
Yes, they do! I have a scattered line of them about 3 feet out from my coop, all around the perimeter, after finding a snake in the coop, and have had no more snake problems. They don't seem to repel anything else, but they do work to repel snakes.

Latestarter I got a hold of the tail and had to pull it out from behind some bricks we have in front of the coop for a roost. When I pulled it out I kept it's head from biting me and had to grab it's head like they do on the survivor shows DH makes us watch! So I guess you do learn something from watching them. lol I just knew I did not want to get bit!

Thanks Kluckychik.

I would be afraid that other birds or squirrels or dogs would eat the moth balls. I don't want that.

That's right. I had to grab it's head so it could not bit me! When you have something with teeth or fangs you have to do something so it won't bite you! I did not see it's eye's till I picked it up. I can't tell one snake from another. That is exactly what I was thinking!

I don't know how I did it yet.

Good luck on your hatch Friday Alaskan!

chicka, other birds, squirrels, and dogs don't eat moth balls. They might not avoid the area they're in, but they don't eat them. Snakes, on the other hand, will avoid the area where the moth balls are at. I'd rather a stupid squirrel die from a moth ball (highly unlikely) than to get bit by a poisonous snake myself.

As I mentioned previously, I ordered my Rcom incubator. They promptly sent me an email telling me to go to www.usps.com, and gave me a tracking number. I did that for several days, and nothing. The post office couldn't find it. I began getting a bit concerned, and was going to call them, however, it dawned on me that so much of everything else they translated was poorly done, so I headed over to the UPS site, and entered my tracking number. Lo, and behold it worked. It was on it's way, and to be delivered today. YAY!

Since I ordered my incubator, I've been collecting eggs, setting them in containers, and on towels on my counter, sorted by date, which hen, rooster, etc. Last night as Dh went to work, he grabbed 18 of my eggs, put them in an egg carton, and took them to work to give to a co-worker. When I discovered what he had done, I was NOT happy. I had eggs he could have given the co-worker that I had no intention of hatching, had he asked me. When my incubator arrived, I was scrounging for eggs to hatch. I was giving him the stink eye, and shoulder lean.
