The Old Folks Home

Yah chin hairs :( with age come chin hairs, and other great (?) surprises from nature. ENJOY your youth. BTW I will be 69 next month. So you don't have to worry about chin hairs for a long time. Do use sun block religiously and polarized sun glasses AND wide brimmed sun hats. Most cases of skin cancer trace back to early, fun years kids, teens, early adulthood and a few bad sunburns. YOU can prevent damage. Wish I had known back in the my youth - but, no one really knew about the sun's effects then. Most of use just used baby oil and OY, the painful burns.

Hmm I've always loved being outdoors. Haven't been out quite as much since I was eleven for pretty obvious reasons  But I used to be completely brown, I want my tan back, but yes I will wear sunblock. I don't really burn like my sister  she turns bright red in the sun.

Morning all!
Ok, you guys have kind of forgotten one thing. After a round of strong chemo a while back I lost my all the hair on my arms and legs (yes!), my eye lashes and eyebrows (boo!) and my nice strawberry blond hair kind of did slower "shedding" thing and grew back in at the same time this sort of dark ash blond mixed with a LOT of grey (whoopee). Anyway, the eyebrows grew back, the eyelashes sort of, and the arm and leg hair, not so much

. BUT, of course I now grow a mustache (no chin hair, yet) and the stupid ear hair!!! I didn't think women got the ear hair!
Good grief!

Isn't it bad enough Mother Nature that your gravity is sending everything else south? Now everything that doesn't "migrate" has to be hairy????

:gig that has to be one of the funniest things I've read in a long time. (You said you had chemo, are you okay now?)

OK, I know this goes back like 35 pages or something, but what Wisher said is 1000% accurate (yes, there's an added zero there)

"Men need straight talk and direction and generally they will do what you want. They just don't draw conclusions or take hints very well. It turns out much better..."

The most common complaint you'll hear from a guy about a gal is "I wish she would just TELL ME WHAT SHE WANTS, instead of relying on me to guess, and then getting mad/upset/disappointed/distant/silent when I guess wrong"

Eventually, we just give up and stop guessing. It's just not worth the BS to play the game. Easier and less painful to just ignore and wait for her to FINALLY just SAY IT straight up.

Just one other thing that IMHO is a major issue... guys for the most part, are analytical and logical and use their brain first. Women for the most part, are emotional and feeling and use their heart first (regardless of the potential result of not doing the rational/logical/common sense <to us> thing

And now on another subject becoming near and dear to my head... the loss of hair... It has begun its migration south and now grows in copious quantities from both inside and outside my ears as well as sprouting from my nostrils! My eye brows are becoming like some wild things that grow longer than my head hair and without trimming I'd look like Gandalf on a bad day

Used to be so thick I had trouble getting a comb through it... Not a major problem anymore

Not bald, but very thin. (Edit to say <--- that was referring to head hair, not eyebrows)

59 is "very old"? Dang! I just GOT there! In my mind, I don't believe I've aged since about mid 40s, though my body tries to remind me daily that's NOT the case. Can hardly wait till my next decade passes. They seem to be going by so much faster than previously...

Hey @Beer can , your daughter is lovely and boy can I understand your position.

The fact that he's fishing WITH her should make you feel SOMEWHAT better... Kinda feel bad for the hottie at work who had her beauty bubble burst... life aint always kind.

That was the most important thing I've learned. Just ask for what you want. If you hope for what you want you'll just be disappointed if you don't get it. If you ask and they say no, that's the worst that can happen. And it's not that bad.

I'm not there yet but yesterday I wrestled with 2 goats who were insistent that they were not getting their hooves trimmed. I then mowed the lawn for a few hours, then came back and hauled haypoop out of the goat haus (they are wasting so much hay) and the duck house. It was hours worth of work and a decade ago I would have had no issues. This morning I woke up and I swear I had been put on the rack all night. My shoulders are killing me. Once the naproxen kicked in I realized my hamstrings, back and hands also hurt.

Lol! You all crack me up!
Had a young women supervisor at work, super hot, no joke she was super hot...but had had chin whiskers... Young guy at work, we thought was going to get fired, supposed to wear a beard net even for day old scrubble, he wasn't, she nastily asked him where his beard net was, he asked her where her's was...OMG!

It is hard to lose a daughter. But you need to think about a guy that is great for her. And will love and take care of her the way you would.
