The Old Folks Home

Had to go fix his name spelling..it's an . . o..not an.. a... They name their baby's for the meaning. This is Greek, meaning, A Gift From God. :) Wonder what his nick name will be.

Microchick I also like a light syrup for my pears and for a little flavor for pies I like to add a little cinnamon or ginger I did some of each this year. This was the first time I used ginger and boy are they good!

I had to put to rest an old friend yesterday. She just wasn't doing well and it was her time. It's never easy but this has been the toughest one in my life. Perhaps because I'm getting older and beginning to realize that my time is coming as well. Normally I take care of it myself but this time I did the vet visit route and I'll never do that again. ever. I'm a little better today, but still tear up when I think about her (like now, typing this). She was probably the best dog I've ever had and such a sweetie. I have my LGD Mel to keep me company, but he misses her too. I'll look to get him (and I) another companion after the move and I get settled. Sorry guys, was gonna keep my pain to myself. Thanks all for the well wishes without knowing why.

Mystie greeting Mel the day he arrived home.

She will be greatly missed.

So sorry - years back - we had four dogs pas(need to be put down) within a short time - all oldies, and even thought 3 made it to 14 yrs. - it's never long enough with dogs. Last one was Jan.'89 haven't had a dog since.
