The Old Folks Home

Gee, really? Here I thought I was doing pretty good considering I'm on day 6 of some miserable mucous filled, coughing, nose blowing, aching all over yet unnamed virus that DH and I have been passing back and forth between the two of us like the rolls of paper towels we have perpetually tucked under our arms.

Getaclue I sure am going to be lifting you up in prayer tomorrow. Not knowing is miserable. Here is hoping you are just looking at a tune up and not a major over haul.

@getaclue I lived through that 84-85 no recurrence from there praise to God
those prayers are nightly for you

I TRIED THIS, IT'S FALSE ADVERTISING!

@getaclue I had a breast cancer scare a few years back. I found it most helpful to try not to think, keep busy, and stay positive. I realize that these are easier said than done, but it truly made a difference in my coping ability. If I started thinking about the "what if" s, I would get depressed and couldn't function, so, instead, I would throw myself into a project, my kids' activities, and my doctor's appointments as if they were a project that needed my attention. I also found it helpful to treat myself like I would treat someone else that was going through what I was facing. I made meals for the family and put them in the freezer in case I didn't feel like cooking, I sent myself flowers, and I visited with old friends without talking about "the tests." I gave myself one friend that I could cry to (you know who you are) but looking back, it wasn't too fair to that person.

I was lucky.

I'll be praying for you.......

Wisher1000 I've been there also and you are oh so right. The only thing that I did differently was I thought of the possibility as an invader and got super mad at it. It seemed to help when I channeled all of my anxiety into a state of mind where the possible diagnosis was an unwelcomed enemy that had to get out of my body. I was very lucky in that I got the red flag thrown at me on a Friday and by Monday I was getting the all clear. Sure hope the same happens for you @getaclue.
