The Old Folks Home

How did that hoarded manage to keep the horse alive feeding it cornflakes? I wonder what condition it was in when found.

Actually corn flakes wouldnt be so bad.... though in two weeks she would have dropped a hundred pounds or more... but she delivered a healthy foal later that year. Horses dont store fat for contingency sake so any longer and the both of them would have been at risk.

@Wickedchicken6 I am right there with you only my worst enemy is my vision
put something in my path I go down boom I have neuropathy in my feet rarely feel them
but have the added fun it will tip me over without warning
My near sighted vision has taken a dive bomb the last month. I've got to take my glasses off to see. The same with my hubby's vision. But he's 4 years older than I am so I've been telling him that it's just not fair!

Quote: I use what they call a rollator. It has four wheels and a seat and brakes... I can walk about a bit without it but any thing that takes some time I need it to sit on. I once raked poo in my horses corral ... Park the walker and rake towards me... move the walker and rake again.... Makes the waste into a row....

Here are my plans for my next coop.... or poultry house. I modeled it with a wheel chair because that was the only ergonomic tool I could find. I may be in a weelchair eventually though. so planning ahead.

Here is what one of the partitions should look like when I am done.

Ok, yes...that's exactly what my Grandmother uses, except everyone calls them walkers here. Rollator makes much more sense though.

That seat is a godsend. She couldn't walk very far but she could sit on the seat and I'd push her.

Those are fantastic plans! Thinking ahead as well. When we built our house, my husband's friend was in a wheelchair and we changed the door openings to accommodate. The wider doors have been much handier than the standard size.

Back to your plans, they look very well thought out. One question I have from the first plan...will guineas lay eggs in a specific nest box/area? I notice you have two spots designated where they would lay.

I have elevation problems too - ups and downs. I thought getting a wheeled video game seat(very close to ground) would work for me in the house - I could scoot along but it was murder to get into and even worse to try and rise. I had to scoot over to something solid, so I could pull myself up. Needless to say that got returned to Target in a hurry. A lot of housework needs to be done at low heights or floor height and it only gets a "lick and a promise." My knees cannot tolerate kneeling - it would be good if everything was counter top high
