The Old Folks Home

Been thinking about buying the 2 trailers behind my property (if it bordered my property I would do it in a heartbeat) but looks like the ROI would be about 10 years. And countless headaches.

Canned one last time for the season and went out with a bang. Dropped a quart jar of boiling water into the boiling water bath. Water flew out and went all over my wrist and forehead/eye.

Fun. I feel like Smeagol in LOTR where the elven rope burned his wrists.

I sure hope the burns are not bad there

Wow Scg that is terrible. I hope your burns heal quickly.

I had a pressure cooker explode on me, my face and one eye. My neighbor came running to help me she put my face under a cold water faucet and let it cool then she covered my face in tea. The only kind I had was lipton instant tea. In 30 minutes you could not tell what had happened other than all the food all over the kitchen and in my hair.

And when my sister grabbed the hot heating element in the oven I did the same for her hand. 20 minutes later you could not tell she did not even have a red spot.

Ouch! SCG. Hope it ain't bad.
Buddy of mine opened his cooker in the sink, ran cold water over it so he could open it faster, done it many times, cold water dripped on the hot jars that time and exploded canned venison all over his face and arm.
We slathered him up with butter and kept drinking... :-D
The butter kept his skin hydrated, healed good.
(I don't recommend using butter though... :-D)

cold water or cool water is the best... a cloth layed over the top and kept constantly moist with the water.

Keeps the flesh from continuing to cook on its own.

I would imagine the tea bags would promote furhter cooling and wicking of heat. Some medicinal qualities to it too.
