The Old Folks Home

I'm not interviewing for a job, guys, I'm on the panel representing my facility.

Appreciate the support, though.

Tried to put a necklace on today. My nails are trimmed to nubs (with actual trimmers, not my teeth) and I couldn't get the darn thing on this morning. Oh well, I'm uncomfortable enough, don't need to add jewelry to it.

First one today just ended it was over the phone couldnt get pictel to work so my earrings and necklace and sweater were unappreciated.
Next one in 2o minutes. Hoping for pictel to work.
Getting tons of flak from my staff for not looking frumpy in scrubs. The panic was huge this morning when they thought I was interviewing to leave them.

That is so funny!

We use Skype or Google+ for video interviews. Most people have one or both of those.

Adobe connect is use in the "wealthier" Departments and units here at UC Davis. The English Dept. is not a "wealthy" department for sure!

Lol, I thought my husband was going to have a heart attack when I put on a nice sweater, skirt, tights and riding boots... I'm normally in jeans and a t-shirt or wife-beater

I spent my career wearing either white uniforms or scrubs. Last clinical job I had gave us a bit of leniency. We could wear t-shirts with lab coats or cover up scrub tops. We had a lot of fun with that. When I started working with DH he said I didn't have to wear scrubs if I didn't want to. His office was pretty casual, but I still wanted 'office' wear so I went on line and found some really nice cargo pants with lots of pockets and nice fitting T's. Long sleeve for winter and short for summer. We got a lot of compliments on our office wear. DH wore either dress shirts or polos with his pants and other Docs would stop him at conferences and ask him where he got his pants. I still have them and consider them now to be my 'dress up' clothes. I too am broad shouldered but most of my fitting problems comes from my.....er endowments if you get my drift. Plus I spend a lot of time also doing the wood splitting, stacking thing, feed bag moving thing so I'm pretty muscular. Dresses are hard to fit so I don't wear them. Got two or three in my closet. Haven't worn a dress in almost 10 years so SCG I can well sympathize even though I'm pretty normal weight wise, country living has left it's mark on me.

I wouldn't worry about it. I would wear a nice T, slacks throw a nice lab jacket over it and interview away. I always liked the medical professional look of a lab jacket. Besides, being a professional is more attitude than anything else.
