You can buy the components there and build your own or have them build it for you. They are very good on the phone with questions.

For browsers I use Firefox its free off the internet and has a pop up blocker that you can activate.... I have used Google Chrome with success as well. I dont like the one that windows pushes... so much I dont remember the name of it....

A little worried about the "LOL. . . you know me" but, yeah, Microsoft Edge keeps pushing

itself on me. Is that to be ignored? Says uses less battery, but not so user friendly in my mind.

I have been using Chrome to my satisfaction other than that. I would like to take advantage of

nice weather to surf outdoors w/o extension cables. Thanks!!

I got stabil-izers from LL bean many years ago - they did not help at all and it was very uncomfortable walking on them. Plus taking them off before entering the house , so they wouldn't punch holes in the flooring, was messy & wet. I figured it would cost so much to return them - it wasn't worth. They got kicked to the back of my closet.

I had read all the comments from buyers, they extolled the product to the heavens. Even ladies older than me said they weren't afraid of walking on ice etc, any more. Either they were all lying or their ice wasn't hard as nails and slippery as ours.

When I started on BYC - people were saying to wears thick sock OVER their boots and they made it slip proof. I couldn't find socks big enough to slip over boots, even low ones.

PS the stabil-izers would routinely pop off a boot while walking - leaving me to struggle with one off, one on, and trying to pick up the stray one without falling down.

I'm working on a runner right now. It's a barn scene from Cranston Print Works. Since there are chickens everywhere I'm using a simple chicken wire pattern on the back and hope to finish it up tonight so I can start quilting on it. Problem is I took a fall on the ice last night. Thought I was being careful but I stepped on some glare ice that was in front of the rooster coop gate. Luckily I was reaching for the gate at the moment my foot shot out from under me and was able to grab a hold of the chain link fabric with my right hand. Unluckily, instead of falling and hitting the ground, I swung around and crashed into the the stupid 4/4 inch fence post.. I managed to catch it on the edge too and just laid on the ground for a minute groaning until I could catch my breath. Luckily I was wearing my thick lined hoody because I would have wound up with broken ribs again instead of bruises and a world of soreness. Just shows you that no matter how careful you are, mother nature can still blind side you.

I'm going shopping for strap on ice cleats or my boots..

I have a couple pairs of the LLBean strap ons. Have to admit they're not the most comfortable when walking in my garage on the concrete, but you get used to it. I take my barn boots with cleats off at the bottom of the stairs, then put my house shoes on and trudge up the stairs into the house, so I don't have to take them on/off. The first pair I got I erred on the side of small, and they fell off a lot. The next size up worked much better and stay on most of the time. They still aren't great on ice, I slip on occasion and make claw marks in the ice.

SCG like you I had 2 pairs of the LLBean's things. The first was too small, and the second a little to big. I tried taking my boots off (with cleats) but, I was not able to get back into my boots.It was too difficult (and painful) to try getting the boots back on my feet. Beans said to inter twine the cleat things with boot laces - but, they still fell off and messed up the laces.


BYW is your broody turkey safer to handle in the dark? I think she needs her beak taped shut briefly like they do to alligators to handle them.

I have the LLBean signature boots, but I only lace them up to my ankles (I have large ankles and calves so boots don't fit comfy). I can slide my feet in and out of the boots pretty easy like that. If I had to lace them on and off, fergeddaboudit.


I am just going to leave the turkey be.

It's probably going to be hard to find the exact pair of cleats as I have about 3 pairs of different boots that I wear depending on what the weather is. Oh, make that 5. Forgot the muck boots.

Maybe I'd just do better wearing my dirt bike impact guards and strapping pillows to my butt.

As for the turkey, maybe you could employ the same tactics that we use on our diabetic cat when he is protesting getting his insulin shot. We throw a thick towel over his head and shoulders. He still tries to nail us at times but it's harder for him to zero in on where we are when he can't see us.

I bought a parrot years ago and it was young. That little bugger bite me every time I got near him. I got out my dh's motorcycle gloves and put them on, I picked the parrot up and let him sit on the end of my index finger and bite the glove all he wanted! By the end of the day my 2 year old could let that bird sit on her shoulder and he was a wonderful pet! He just had to learn who was the boss. Then he was fine. I never hurt him I did not have to, when he figured out he could not hurt me that was that!

You know you can also get kevlar arm protectors. Cyclists wear them to protect their arms and elbows in crashes. They really do work.
