The Old Folks Home

Perhaps @superchemicalgirl could hang a HUGE bunch of basil over the death turkey's nest and it would calm her down. Plus, if there are any flies now, they would be gone.

I didn't want to admit it but snagging an egg from the nest adjacent to hers last night... I got another turkey bite on my arm.

As cold as it is here I haven't seen a bug since probably October.

Well, let's see, I suffer from Rheumatic heart disease, atypical RA, two bouts of Lyme disease with residual arthralgia and neuritis, unstable lumbar vertebrae, spinal arthritis, lumbar scoliosis, plantar fasciitis and metatarsus aductus (deformed feet) all of which causes me to suffer from chronic pain. In spite of it all, I face the world with a smile on my face. I work along side my husband on our farm. I garden, I build, I take care of my chickens, I cycle and I ride a dirt bike. This time 10 years ago I was a competitive cyclist and helping my husband build speed bikes in search of a world record that we finally obtained.

Yet my aches and pains are nothing when compared with what some of the brave ladies on the thread are dealing with right now as far as their health is concerned.

I am 63.5 years old, and a petite 5'2" tall from tough Pennsylvania Duetch, Irish and Cherokee stock. It wasn't until two years ago that I finally gave in and agreed to start taking medication for my chronic pain. My doctor understand that I will never give int o my py physical problems and wants me to keep on being active. The way I figure at this point in time, I've earned my stripes.

No pain no gain? HA! I like Never give up, Never surrender better.

Maybe the "grabber" thing could hold her around the neck, so she can't bite you. Do vets have a turkey sedative, that you could slip in her feed? I'm wondering how BADLY do you need THIS turkey? You could launch a "go fund me," for a new turkey with better personality, etc.

That, or one of the loop on a stick things that animal control uses to catch/handle aggressive dogs, get the loop around her neck, tighten, and then move her head with the stick...
