That has several possible causes...but one cause is nutrition of parents.

I find nutritional yeast to be a fantastic nutritional boost for breeders. Also the orange veggies (carrots, pumpkins).

For a chick, dribble liquid vitamins into its beak.

Quote: Stargazing, as in the head bent up and over the back? That would be thiamine deficiency, wouldn't it? If so you'll want to make sure your vitamins contain B1 (thiamine) and act fast. At least thiamine deficiency kills lambs really quickly ,I'm assuming it would be for chicks as well. If it's wry neck...different thing...but definitely vitamins get a thumbs up.

I am thinking about buying a utility trailer 2500 lb capacity... Any thoughts?

Go to a store like walmart and get poly vi sol baby drops without iron. You may need to hand feed and water the chick for a couple of day.

If the breeder flock is yours, they will need better feed. This is usually a flock deficiency and can also be caused by parasites.

The others are doing great it was one of the eggs I rescued from freezing outside after the hen abandoned the nest I feed mine sunflower seeds that have vitimin E so that's not the problem I think it was because the long cold the eggs suffered it was the last one to hatch and 8 from 11 was pretty great odds concedering the circumstances! 3 hasn't hatched umm letting them stay till my eggs start to hatch then I'll say that they are gone the one is doing better now so I'll see what happens before I drive 20+ miles one way and spend money I don't have on something I might not need

My incubator's been on my washing machine in the laundry room for the last 1.5 years. I don't think I could sleep with the incubator in the bedroom. What am I taking about...who sleeps when they're hatching anyway?
