The Old Folks Home

If it helps our oyster shell. (I think it's 50 lbs) is $25/bag.  I keep 2 margarine dishes in rotation for the shells from the eggs we eat.

When the shells are 2 days old, I crush them down into fine pieces and feed them back to the girls. Haven't run out of shells...yet.

I'm glad I found the 50 lb bag for less than 7 bucks then and mine are already crushed I put them in a tidycat bucket that I made a feeder from that way the whole 50 lb bag is there and I can just refill it when it gets empty and my hens get all they want!!

Happy Monday to you too this is my best day of the week now I get up early and sit watching everyone go to work and laugh at them lol having to fight that morning rush and still asleep when they hit that timecard!! Missing the hot coffee because they overslept. Me sitting back with a cup saluting them on their way to work. Then I wonder if I should lay back down or sit back and enjoy the morning that I never could for so many years along with another cup of coffee!!

I agree...much easier to just fill up from a bag.:thumbsup

What's good about it is the tidy cat bucket will hold the whole 50 lb bag!! I made two openings on one side and used a piece of another one I cut up for nest boxes to make a devider so the oyster shells wouldn't just pore out

Ahh a fellow coffee enthusiast. I'm lucky my husband brings home the bacon and I get to stay home and collect the eggs.
