I don't play anything without my coffee. Usually take a cup out to the coop at first light sit on my bucket and talk to birds while I drink it.

Staying close to the bathroom is always a good idea especially once you reach a certain age. I've gall bladder removed a while back so I know what you mean.

Good ideas about the oyster shell. I can't seem to keep the shell clean no matter what feeder/bowl I've put mine in...so I toss it in the self feeder with the starter at intervals as I fill it so they always have it trickling down. I monitor their usage. If they clean it up I increase the amount them. It's the only feeder that works for all the sizes of chickens I've got. I put a stand for the oegbs to reach the feed and shell.

On a separate note...I love hearing a rightly ticked off chicken. There's one girl complaining ever so loudly as I'm typing this...for some reason it puts a huge smile on my face to hear them so riled up about stuff. Probably she can't get a nest box. It will be the end of the world for certain!
