The Old Folks Home

You know my turkey is still broody.

Maybe she had the right idea - spend all of fall and winter holed up in a small, warm nesting box... with a bad attitude.

Never had a heritage one, had a broad breasted one live to a ripe old age cause I couldn't cut her head off, she was such a sweetheart...ughh. Laid tons of eggs.
Have you tried just tossing a bunch of eggs under her? And if you have, tried it again?

Our craigslist nearby has some Pygmy goats, and Nubian pure breeds, registered for sale, and some crosses cheaper. Hmm, calling tomorrow. As long as both are registered, Pygmy Nubian crosses are the start of Kinders and can be registered as such, as long as both parents are registered.
Might be better than a couple hundred mile round trip to get a couple registered Kinders. Kids, ours Lol

Many, many times. They rot. I did not have good fertility with my last hatch and her inability to hatch anything over the last 7ish months confirms that. She's laying on a ton of eggs right now - whatever, I don't care.
