The Old Folks Home

I feel like I'm in a time warp. It's those folks that keep bumping up threads from 5 and more years ago. I wish they would let sleeping threads lie. I go to answer and see the starter date and take off. It happens a lot in "what breed or gender is this," and New Members thread.

They search for threads from their town or city, and then answer them like the starter was still involved. 90% of the time, starters post a couple times and then disappear.

:barnieI have enough trouble trying to figure what day/what year/what century, without getting lead astray.

getaclue last summer my 2 bucks got ear mites and we heated some coconut oil and put in their ears weekly for 3 weeks and that got rid of them. Poor boys were miserable.
But they did like the coconut oil.

One of our dogs has a weird allergy that causes her to loose most of her fur.
I put some coconut oil all over her and her fur grew back.

So sorry your roo is sick again microchick :hugs:fl
Sparrows not much of a problem up here, too many things to eat them. Our problem is with the sneaky little finches. Unfortunately, they are not as smart as the sparrows it seems. I am always trying to get the silly things back out of the coop, greenhouse, from under the netting in the run, wherever. They have no trouble getting in but can't seem to find their way out again.

Same here chickisoup only the problem we have with birds getting in the shop are the stupid Phoebe's and the occasional nuthatch that just seem to think that the big open door is there just for them to use. Once in they just fly around unable to find that big gaping hole in the wall again. Silly birds.

The ones I get a kick out of are the humming birds. We will have the door open and a hummer will come charging inside. Throw on the breaks, chirp, look around like it's thinking "Oh man, what was I thinking?" turn around and leave at twice the speed it used coming in.

Rooster is still with us this morning. He's alert, eating, drinking, just cannot use that right swollen foot. I'm hoping the antibiotics are starting to kick in since he is definitely more alert today and is moving himself around from one spot in his pen to another so time will tell. In the mean time, his condition is guarded at best.

Oh! BTW! Happy Saturday everyone!

Me either but after we had done the ear mite treatment on the rabbits we had some melted coconut oil left and my husband suggested we try it. We have tried all kinds of stuff on her to no avail. We are glad it worked. Can you imagine a bald Australian Shepherd during 20-30* temps. We did give her blankets and a bed on the porch all winter.
